Plunger

DEAN manufactures and supplies frac pump fluid end plungers with high performance and outstanding wear resistance. A variety of models and sizes are available for most major pump manufacturers including Weir SPM, FMC, Gardner Denver and others. Our goal is to reduce the customers' frac fleets operating costs by increasing the duralibity of pumping equipments.

Main features are

The most cost effective coating for the frac pump plungers is the nickle-based alloy coating, which is carried out by PTA offering superior wear protection and retaining the plungers hardness up to 848HV/HRC65 with significant resistance to oxidation.
Hard chrome layer is applied by electroplating on the plungers as standard corrosion protection and functional layer to achieve superior hardness from 800HV to 950HV/HRC64-HRC67, case depth is 0.3mm/ 0.0118in
Manufactured using a steel or stainless steel based material and then thermal coated with tungsten Carbide by HVOF technology, it offers an average of 40% greater wear resistance than conventional nickle-based alloy coated plungers. With accumulated engineering and rich tech know-how, Dean has developped its own highly wear resistant coatings with strong ductility reducing risks of cracking if flexed, hardness can be minimum 790HV/HRC59 and up to 920HV/HRC70 with case depth reaches 0.61mm/ 0.024in
